Seeking Experienced Development Expert to Join Our Board of Trustees
Background
Established in 2014, the Newmont Akyem Development Foundation (NAkDeF) is a company limited by guarantee, dedicated to executing sustainable development projects that address the needs of stakeholders in the Newmont Akyem mine host communities. Over the years, the Foundation has successfully implemented numerous projects, fostering social and economic transformation within these communities. Currently, the Foundation is looking to include a Development Expert on its Board to further enhance the quality of its initiatives, particularly those focused on job creation.
Objective
The Board Development Expert is expected to offer strategic guidance and input in crafting the Foundation’s long-term strategic development plan, with a particular focus on economic empowerment initiatives.
Expertise and Qualifications
1. Relevant experience: Proven track record in development (especially job creation), fundraising, or a related field.
2. Expertise: In-depth knowledge of development strategies, fundraising techniques, and donor relations.
3. Achievement-oriented: Demonstrated success in achieving development goals and targets.
4. Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
5. Relationship-building: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members.
6. Strategic thinking: Capacity to develop and implement effective development strategies.
7. Integrity and ethics: High moral character, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics.
8. Certifications and education: Relevant certifications and education in development, fundraising, or a related field.
9. Network and connections: Established network of contacts in the development and fundraising community.
10. Cultural competence: Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
